Find Your Solution

Visible blood vessels and vascular lesions are usually the result of changes in circulation or poorly functioning blood cells. Although covering them up with cosmetics is an option, many patients prefer long-term, effective results that leave them feeling comfortable baring skin. The YAG laser is one of the best options for clearing the skin of pigmentation, red spots, and visible spider veins with few side effects.

With a customized treatment plan from our laser technicians, you can achieve clear, even skin without visible redness or vascular lesions.

How Does a YAG Laser Work?

The Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) laser is used in many different manufacturing processes, and also can be used for cosmetic purposes. It’s a non-ablative laser, meaning it does not break the skin. It works by administering laser energy that is attracted to pigmentation in the underlying blood cells, which generates heat and damages the tissue. This causes the pigmented cells to gradually die off and be absorbed by the body’s metabolic processes. Over time, this causes the redness and pigmentation to fade from the surface of the skin.

Who is a Good Candidate for the YAG Laser?

The YAG laser is an excellent option for patients looking for a reduction in vascular pigmentation. This includes patients struggling with:

During a consultation with our laser technicians, you’ll discuss your health history for any vascular concerns or conditions that may affect the safety of your procedure. Additionally, you’ll discuss any at-home methods for managing your concerns and what you can expect from treatment. For some patients, these concerns can be difficult to manage or cover up with cosmetics. The YAG laser can produce long-term results with very little downtime or discomfort.

What Happens During YAG Treatment?

YAG treatment is best performed using a topical numbing agent for comfort. Once ready, the specialized handpiece administers pulses of laser energy to the treatment area where it’s absorbed by the underlying redness and pigmentation. Once the area is treated, you can return home for a short recovery. In total, your treatment can take about 30-60 minutes.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

After your treatment session, you can expect some minor redness and inflammation which subsides within a few days. It can take 1-2 weeks for the skin to begin to clear, but the result is noticeable lightening of the treatment area and overall improved skin tone. You can enjoy long-term results with YAG treatments and drastic improvements in vascular concerns.
