Time to Take Care of Mom this Mother’s Day

Farah Edds, PA-C

Hello and welcome to this week’s Trillium Creek Dermatology and Surgery Center’s Podcast. My name is Farah Edds, and I’m a Physician Assistant with Trillium Creek Dermatology.

As a new mom this year, I am so excited to celebrate my first Mother’s Day with my daughter! But before we get to celebrating, first and foremost, I want to give a shout out to all those hard-working mom’s out there– let this Mother’s Day be a day to treat yourself! And what better way to treat yourself, then by taking care of you first!

The first step to make sure your skin is healthy and glowing. Every mom knows that when you are healthy on the inside, you look and feel healthy on the outside too! My favorite tips for this involve getting on a good, effective skin care regimen, staying hydrated, and taking a supplement for your hair skin and nails. The four main products everyone should have in their skin care routine are a sunscreen with a SPF 50 or higher, a brightener like hydroquinone (my personal favorite is the H&H Science Brightening Pads!), a Vitamin C product, and a Retinol at night. Once you get this core regimen down, you can mix and match other products to fine tune your results. There are many products with high quality ingredients to choose from to help you reach your healthy skin goals found in the H&H Science Boutique located at all of our offices, so feel free to stop in and ask any questions you may have!

A personal favorite of all moms, is a day at the spa! If you are lucky enough to have a spa day this Mother’s Day, be sure to pay attention to ingredients used in your facial and massage products. If you have sensitive skin, try to avoid products and lotions with fragrances or heavy oils. These can sometimes cause a rash called contact dermatitis. Be sure to ask your aesthetician or massage therapist to use sensitive skin products when possible. This will help you to have peace of mind while you get some well-deserved rest! If you do get a massage or facial and notice a rash that does not resolve on its own, come see us at Trillium Creek Dermatology & Surgery Center.

If your schedule is too busy to get a day at the spa- no worries – you can treat yourself to an at-home spa day any time! The H&H Science Boutique has all the “At-Home Spa Day” essentials you’ll need. Puffy, dark under eyes got you looking tired? Try our H&H 24K Gold Eye Recovery Patches for a quick pick me up! Trying to shrink those pesky pores? How about our H&H Pore Minimizing Masque? You could try a new hydrating sheet mask, our Jade facial roller, or even a Dermaplaning treatment– the options are endless! And no at- home spa day is complete without a mani and pedi; we have a beautiful selection of Zoya nail polishes to suit every taste.

Lastly this Mother’s Day, let Trillium Creek Dermatology help pamper Mom! Treat her to a Makeover in the H&H Science Boutique, or pick up a gift certificate for a treatment that will really wow her, like Botox, facial fillers, a chemical peel, or a laser treatment. If you’re not sure what she might love, schedule a consultation and we can take it from there. No matter which direction Mom chooses this Mother’s Day, Trillium Creek Dermatology has her best interest in mind to help mom look and feel her best!

Once again, I’m Farah Edds, PA-C with Trillium Creek Dermatology & Surgery Center. Thank you for listening to this week’s podcast, Taking care of mom this Mother’s Day. And Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours!
